Books Al Liked

This post covers some Books Allison loved in 2020:

Musical Chairs :very fun family story.

How We Show Up: Mia Birdsong

How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell(Al says this was a hard read. But she felt it a worthy read.

Allison told me the romance novels she fell for were not, patriarchal and painting women as subservient to men. Who knew?

Sure she called them Bodice rippers historical Romance books, which hardly sounds feminist. Do you read this genre?

She likes Tessa Dare

*The Duchess Deal

*Unclaimed by Courtney Milan

*The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller

I have some podcasts I enjoy:

The Fat Squirrel. Amy Beth is funny and a great knitter. She is a natural in front of a camera.

I loved the podcast: Terrible Thanks for Asking

A favorite newsletter “The Empress of Dirt” is always full of timely gardening ideas.

Thats our Monday list. I will be catching up with your blogs very soon. Anything to add to my lists?

  1. Some seem to think it strange but I’m an ardent sci fi or fantasy reader! I don’t listen to podcasts…not sure why…perhaps I don’t have the habit! My most favourite author Raymond Feist !! Here in the land of Spain it is getting chillier in the mornings and evenings the only sign that Autumn is on its way!! Rare to find pumpkins like yours here, for those who celebrate Halloween they have to buy plastic ones!! I shudder to think! keep well Amanda x

  2. I’m in a reading “block”. I was reading the Seven Sisters and then each book about each sister and the last one I started was really not grabbing me. So.. I need to force myself to start it again. ((hugs)), Teresa 🙂

  3. At this point, I have 366 books on my ‘to read’ list! Thank goodness for Goodreads; I can keep adding to my lists, because book-reading folks that I know often recommend titles, and trying to remember (ha!) or making lists on the backs of sales receipts just wasn’t working.

  4. Thanks for the list. I never know what to read. I have 4 Audible credits right now and I have no idea what to do with them.

  5. I often watch “The Fat Squirrel” too. She is very entertaining. A couple of other favorites are “Little Drops of Wonderful” and “Tales from Cuckoo Land.” They are both doing daily vlogs in October too!
I hope you have a wonderful Monday. I will. My sweetie has a vacation day and we’re winterizing the little trailer after camping all weekend up by Canada. It was 34F this morning when we woke up. We quickly turned the furnace on!
