Gingerbread door bell is a favorite of mine.

There is a double standard here; I get scolded when I give treats…

Zach’s been print making.   Buddy Guy……..0.jpeg

If you follow the eeanegram personality trait definitions, you will laugh at this.  I spent an hour doing my amazing art work…….see where Zach gets it?…….saying what each of us would be thinking at our Christmas dinner.    It is pretty funny.  Al read it and laughed and said, well, we have a lot of different personalities in our family! It is true, we have a 2 and a 4 and a 5 and a 8 and Will is a 7.   So we all see life a bit differently.

And this leads to 5 different expectations for a great Holiday.  Sounds like a paved road to failure …..right?

I’m reading all those things about Holiday Stress.  Frankly,  I am not feeling it .  We are all adults.  Speak your mind kindly.  Dont’ take offense.  We are acting like parents of children……we are parents of adults.   Stock the fridge, provide the beds, and Im going to stay in my routine as much as possible, during the Holidays.

Oh and big news:  I started a sock.  Im feeling it.  Socks. My sanity knitting.

I have not knit a sock all year, but I gave away 3 very important pairs this year. My father was happy to have my hand knit socks on his cold feet as he got sicker and sicker.  My uncle loved the pair I sent him.  and My pal Little joanie at the barn, sent me a photo that they are a perfect fit.

Im off to buy the cookies. Yup.  Not making any.  Cookie walk at my favorite store today.

  1. I still make myself crazy for 2 days of ridiculous baking just prior to Christmas but I no longer drive myself insane for the whole holiday season. My mom died on Christmas morning and that year we cut out so many of our traditions and to-do’s and only did the 1 or 2 things each family member felt were most important. It was such a freeing experience that we’ve made ‘bare minimum’ into our new tradition. I have to admit, it’s pretty nice.

  2. I am very impressed with Zach’s artwork! I’m so happy that your kids will be home with you for xmas. I look forward to seeing your new socks. ((hugs)), Teresa 🙂

  3. I love that print! Printmaking was my favorite class in art school until I ran a knife through my thumb a week before my wedding. I thought I was going down the aisle with a big bandage but I managed to hid it very well.
