Mystery Plants

Judy, your recipe for S’mores Bars was beyond wonderful.  Oh my gosh.  Gooey, chewy and delicious.  Zach’s friends all approved.  Yum.  Yum. Yum.  Because the mosquitoes are so awful, we haven’t sat around a campfire, so this was a great alternative.

Val, these are about to flower.  Well one already is trying.  IT looks like a red plume? What is this ?  Oxalis?  I will say that planting mystery seeds has been very fun.  Val gave me lots of little packets and I was scatterbrained.   I put them in and mixed them up and got:
POPPIES and they are still blooming

Chives that we have begun to cut and use

I think oxalis……

and then a plant that has mum like leaves that hasn’t bloomed yet.   Do you remember the game: OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR MYSTERY DATE?  Yikes that would be quite scary today!

Plan: Continue knitting skirt today.  Allow myself some tears as the time draws near for Zach to leave.  Can I cry and still be happy for him ?  Of course.

Good news on Karen’s hand break.  She was told to move her fingers a LOT!  The  cast will stay on  for a few more weeks.  I don’t know why she got a pink cast.  She should have gotten a CUBS cast!  I’ll make sure she does next time the cast it!

  1. Keep on knitting and know that everything in a mom’s life is complicated–joy and sorrow are certainly possible at the same time!

  2. Enjoyed another catch up on your posts, although I am sorry you felt trapped at the concert and were ill on your otherwise Happy Birthday! Fun to see your surprise plants…Oxalis, I think, too. So glad you have been enjoying time with Zach (and care for your feelings about the anticipated change), Fireman, your animal friends, and human ones, too. All your beautiful tiny stitches always amaze and encourage me to keep stitching. I need to do some frogging…yet again…sigh. So glad Karen is healing, and I am wishing you healthy happy times.

  3. Smore‘s bars? I missed that recipe. It sounds wonderful! I had that Mystery Date game when I was little. I loved playing it, but I think you’re right. It would be scary in the world we live in today. I’m praying for you as Zach‘s time to move gets closer. My Mama‘s heart understands my dear friend.
Lots of love and many blessings,
    Betsy
