Sunset Geneva Lake August 2019.  Chilly on the water.  Short summer hair cut.

Fezzik and I are so tired.  Company interferes with our cats’ routines.  We had 4 guests this weekend. Two of them slept over.  My dear dear funny friend Kath came today.  We were howling at one point, with laughter.  The 3 high school girls laughed till our stomach’s hurt at dinner tonight.   We made a new memory and will not forget the joke for a long time I’m sure.  But. I am. so. tired.

So bring on the caffeine.  These are our choices at the house: the Folly is from my sister.   (A minnesota roaster makes the beans. )  It is delicate and so good from the french press.  She spoiled me with many gifts for my  birthday, as I told you.

Tomorrow it is back to the barn; our early Monday classes.  I love this horse, Prince.   He is a gentle huge giant of a horse.  The barn resets my routine clock.  I need it tomorrow.

And the skirt I was knitting for Al?  Well, I made a big mistake. Took it off the needles and realized my gauge was way off and it would never fit her.  It was huge.  So now , do I rework the numbers and start over…..or do I start another project. ?

I get restless until I figure my knit plan out. Wish me luck .  And wish me some energy!!

  1. whenever we have company, our cat hides fiercely and when they leave she reappears! Frodo just absorbs all the love of the company if they will dispense it. Either way, both animals sleep a lot from the exhaustion!

  2. Love your summer cut.. I’m so tempted to get my hair cut short but I’m too scared. Sorry the knit project for your daughter didn’t work out.. dang. Hope you try again. ((hugs)), Teresa 🙂

  3. Glad you had a very nice visit with friends! Worth the tired.
You know me, I would rework numbers and make that skirt–you already know how the pattern works!

  4. The opening photo: spectacular. Belated birthday wishes…looks like you had a lot of fun this weekend. Maybe postpone deciding what to do about the Al’s knitted piece until you’ve put some days in between…take your time.

  5. Is that ice on the water?? Love the hair cut. I need to do something with mine but can’t decide what. Another half inch and I can cut it all off and donate it… but do I really want to cut it all off?? What I really want is to shave it all off and wear a wig so I don’t have to deal with it every morning. 🙂

  6. Love that haircut; it really suits you. Guests are so pleasant, but like you, they do wear me out. I like my routine. I say try again with the skirt. You have time, it was a fun and uncomplicated knit, and your daughter will like the finished product. Go for it!

  7. How nice that you got to spend time with friends this weekend! It’s always good to go down memory lane.
Too bad about the skirt. I hate making things that have to fit. It’s so stressful especially when it’s for someone else.

  8. Sounds like a very fun weekend! I am sure you will recover from it in a few days. 😉

    Prince is a lovely fellow!

As for the skirt, you seemed to enjoy knitting it, and it went quickly, if you liked the finished garment, basically, I would swatch a couple of needle sizes and do the math. She will love it!

  9. I hope you find that energy, I’ve been feeling the same just lately, I think I need a little pick-me-up. I don’t drink coffee though so that won’t do it for me. I’m sure the horses will have you feeling more energised in no time.
