Happy Monday Q and A

noseybrenda1:3:18.jpg

Cute lil Brenda is asking for a treat.  She’d like an apple thank you very much.

Here we go: answer any or all…..

  1. My sister calls me on the cell phone and says, “Did you pocket dial me?”
I am going to adopt that phrase.  Do you like it better than BUTT DIAL?
  2. Yesterday , Zach and I traded cat toys.  Sometimes you think your cat will love a toy and its just a fail!  But you give it to another cat, and it is perfect. Does your family trade toys?         0-1.jpeg
  3. How much snow has to fall before you cancel a doctor’s appointment?
  4. My girlfriend City Katie (her nickname) slipped on the ice yesterday  and did minimal damage to her birthday body. Yup it was her birthday.  Have you ever had a birthday mishap?
  5. Valentine’s Day is upon us.  The classes at the barn are very SWEET this week.  Will you have any Valentine Fun this week?
  6. I am trying to learn sign language. I took my first class yesterday. IT was difficult . And there is homework.  When is the last time you had homework?

I had run to the barn so my answers are late:

1  I’ll say pocket dial from now on. I like it.

2. Yes we obviously trade toys and it works. This makes me feel like money on toys is not wasted.

3. Fireman just called and cancelled tomorrows Doctor appointment as we are expecting 7 inches of snow.   Its not worth the 45 minute drive there and back on slick snowy icy roads.

4. I fell from standing on a kitchen chair to empty a cabinet when we moved two years ago, on my birthday . I broke my tail bone.  OUCH OUCH OUCH

5. Valentines day is always fun.  Ive sent Al a card and I bought some Collective Coffee for Zach when we  were at the bakery yesterday.  Fireman and I will get a sweet treat to share I’m sure.  I’m thinking a bakery cookie or two!

6. I have to get to my homework tonight for sign language.  I was able to say

Hi, Nice to meet you, to our deaf volunteer today!  She was happy.  She has been trying to teach me a few signs.  Tonight i Work on the alphabet. When the memory fails, I can always spell out a word to communicate.

  1. Pocket dial is less crass-yes, I say pocket dial!
I put toys away for a while and then they are new again-it works!
    No snow worries for me….
I don’t recall any falls on my birthday.
I will probably make Valentines with the boys!
I just had homework with the Machine Knitting Class!

  2. I do like pocket dial better than butt dial.

We give cat toys our girls won’t play with to my SIL for her shy cat.

I don’t cancel too often, but my car is low, so I do have to make sure the driveway is plowed before I go out.

No incidents that I recall on my birthday…

Dieting! No plans for Valentines Day until early March whenI finish this round of whole 30.

I hate homework. Haven’t had a lot of it in about 25 years. Thankfully. I can say “not my job” in sign language. Also “eat s*** and die” neither of which have been very useful since college…

I like butt dial because it’s funnier. My husband has butt dialed me and my teen did too.

    2. Does your family trade toys?
No as none of us have pets and my brother had kids later than I so we just gave him loads of stuff to use or pass along.

    3. How much snow has to fall before you cancel a doctor’s appointment?
    N/A for us Californians.

    4. Have you ever had a birthday mishap?
I don’t believe so but my memory is bad.

    5. Will you have any Valentine Fun this week?
Not really. I may though get a treat each for my daughters and have a plate of my husband’s favorite meal waiting for him.

6.When is the last time you had homework?
OMGosh, you totally reminded me I have knitting homework for STITCHES! I need to make sure I have the right needles. Doh!

And mahalo nui loa – dear, sweet, and wise Kathy – for your email. I don’t think we’re interested in fostering nor taking in a pregnant mama kitty. My tween has her heart set on a young kitten and her sister, oh boy, she is all over the place on what kind of kitty she wants.

  4. 1. Sorry Kathy, I like BUTTS!
    2. I don’t have any animals, but I love picking out dog toys for my parent’s dog, Simba. He is squeaker obsessed! The weirder looking the toy is, the more infatuated he seems to be. I think I got him a squid looking one at Christmas.
    3. I am kind of scared of the Dr. so I try very hard not to cancel appointments for fear of setting a bad precedent. Also, SF = No snow excuse, but trust me I can come up with a bunch of others!
    4. I’m sorry your friend hurt herself. I cannot think of anything super disastrous to physically happen on my birthday. KNoCKS on WOOD.
    5. No special Valentine’s Day plans for me. Well not in the traditional sense. I am doing training at the local library to help students with their reading. 3 evenings after work for 2 hrs. It’s going to be a long week.
    6. I had homework for some training I did at work recently. It was rereading some materials and taking a practice test in prep for a certification/exam. I procrastinated. Do not tell my son.

  5. Ya my grandma did birthdays up big, but with her gone and my birthday coming after my parents have gone south, it’s just another day now:(

  6. As a matter of fact, I’d love an apple too!
Last year, I fell on the day AFTER my birthday, and broke two bones in my hand in two places. That’s one birthday ‘gift’ I can do WITHOUT!

    A. How about Accidental call? LOL!

    2. Does your family trade toys?
    A. Our DIL gave our dog toys when they lived here for 5 years. Now, not so much.

    3. How much snow has to fall before you cancel a doctor’s appointment?
    A. I wouldn’t put myself in danger to go to one.. just sayin’.

    4. Have you ever had a birthday mishap?
    A. My mom put together my one and only surprise party when I was in 5th grade, she had my friend across the street keep me away while the guests arrived and that horrible girl TOLD ME of my surprise party. Ruined it for me.

    5. Will you have any Valentine Fun this week?
    A. We had a dinner reservation but our grandsons will be spending Thursdays here so I might have to cancel the reservation. 😦

    6. When is the last time you had homework?
    A. I really disliked school so homework is an anathema to me.

  8. 1. I have definitely been pocket dialed before:)
    2. I don’t have any toys to trade, but I know my SILs trade kid clothes as the younger will wear anything his older cousin wore LOL
    3. I try to plan my life so I can walk anywhere I have to go in winter.
    4. I once spent a birthday at school alone:(
    5. My class is all about Valentines Day, but I’m trying not to indulge too much. It definitely helps that I don’t like chocolate.
    6.I have homework a lot:(

  9. 1. My sister calls me on the cell phone and says, “Did you pocket dial me?”
I am going to adopt that phrase. Do you like it better than BUTT DIAL?
I don’t mind either. Mom sometimes keeps her phone in the pocket of her shirt and sometimes she’s boob dials me!
    2. Yesterday , Zach and I traded cat toys. Sometimes you think your cat will love a toy and its just a fail! But you give it to another cat, and it is perfect. Does your family trade toys?
We’ve traded toys, and brushes and all kinds of things. Cats are so fickle!
    3. How much snow has to fall before you cancel a doctor’s appointment?
Well.. we’re Canadian… so at least three feet.
    4. My girlfriend City Katie (her nickname) slipped on the ice yesterday and did minimal damage to her birthday body. Yup it was her birthday. Have you ever had a birthday mishap?
I can’t recall any specifics, but I’m pretty clumsy, so it wouldn’t surprise me. Dave usually ends up at the mechanic’s on his birthday for some reason.
    5. Valentine’s Day is upon us. The classes at the barn are very SWEET this week. Will you have any Valentine Fun this week?
Dave and I are going to try to do any early Valentine dinner, but it depends on the weather. I might make something sweet.
    6. I am trying to learn sign language. I took my first class yesterday. IT was difficult . And there is homework. When is the last time you had homework?
December – with my French classes. I took this semester off, but I’ll be back at in May.

  10. Turns out the doc canceled before we could! We have choir on Valentine’s night; I wonder whether that will happen. We took sign language one summer and decided it would work better if we knew a fluent signer to practice with. Our homework lately has been choir stuff…lots of languages to learn, including Zulu.

  11. I would love to give sweet little Brenda a hug. She looks like a doll.
    1. My best friend pocket calls me all the time. We’ve always called it that, I much prefer it over the other.
    2. Frannie has tons of toys and she never touches them. Neither did Amelia. I don’t know if they would play with other ones or not. I bought them new toys when they moved in with us and they have no interest.
    3. I usually go to any appointments I have, although I complain about it all the way! Ha! Especially when they are located at the top of the hill. Remember, we live near the mountains. It’s not a normal midwest hill like I grew up with! Ha! And of course that is where my spine doctor is. I have to see him on Wednesday and we are in a winter storm warning again for today and tomorrow. It figures.
    4. Not that I remember.
    5. It’s Bible study night so I may try to come up with a Valentines day type treat.
    6. Well, it’s not exactly homework but I have to prepare a Sunday school lesson every week for my elementary age kids. Does that count?
    Happy Monday,
    Blessings, Betsy

  12. I HAVE had a birthday mishap, also involving slipping on ice. I will forever blame it on the fact that I was wearing an opal ring. You shouldn’t wear an opal unless it’s your birthstone — it’s bad luck.

I’ve probably given homework more recently than having any myself. 😉

  13. 1. Pocket dial is cute. The Mister does it all the time. I rarely have my phone on my body or anywhere I can find it so I don’t.
    2. For the most part my kitties don’t play. They do love rubber bands though. They steal them and throw them all over the house. Go figure.
    3. When Daddio was in a wheelchair I had to cancel lots of his. No way would I tackle snow AND him.
    4. On my 24th birthday I was 9 months pregnant. While dressing for my birthday dinner I dropped down hard on a chair to put my shoes on and my water broke. #1 Son was born right after midnight. We almost shared a birthday.
    5. Dinner out at our local Italian. Mmmmm…..I’m getting dessert.
    6. I used to work at Gallaudet University and we had to take sign language classes as a term of employment. It was hard but I learned enough to carry on convos with my deaf aides. Being a retired teacher, I am very familiar with homework. We always had to take classes over the summer for our certification. I don’t miss any of it. It was awful.
    Happy Monday!

    2. No trades so far. All the cats enjoy all the toys!!

    1. I prefer anything that is less coarse and ugly in language, usually.
    2. I send all cat toys that my cats are Over down to my son Sam’s cats.
    3. It has to be treacherous and blizzarding for me to cancel a dr. appt.
    6. As a retired teacher, I call anything someone tells me to do “homework”, whether it’s physical therapy exercises or a freelance job. Old habits…!

  17. I am learning sign language as needed with several of the kids I work with. More colors, animals, clothing signs, feelings like sorry, sad, please and such. I am up to 90 signs! Yay! It is fun. I taught Little B, no, yes, potty and poop. He loves them but now signs no to his teachers, heavy sigh!
