Meet MotherBear #1

DSCF0641Finished her last night.  OH boy.  I was so intimidated to seam the head, to stuff correctly, to cinch the neck and ears. (ears need further rounding)   I used you tube and Ravelry boards for lots of easy help.  I worried over stitching the face.  The knitting was the easy part! I think she’s got the huggable factor going….

Karen’s first is coming along really nicely, too.  I’ll show both our progress here as we continue. We’ are hooked now.  I’ll cast on a boy bear later today.

Her name, (mostly for me to keep track of the bear progress) is Olga.  My grandmother Olga, from Hungary, the inspiration.  She knitted.  I met her once.

We watched Darkhorse yesterday.  What a fun movie.  The brogues of the folks in the documentary are thick,  even for my ears.  I almost needed subtitles.  A great little story. I recommend it.  One of you recommended it to me, but I’ve forgotten who. Thanks!
